EVENTS INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Willowdale Steeplechase is seeking a seasonal part time (8 - 10 hours) employee to
fill the position of events intern. The person’s duties will fall into two main categories:
office administration and stable management.
Office administration duties will include interacting with sponsors, volunteers and
patrons of our May 12 event; answering phones; selling parking spaces for the races,
coordinating the vendor tent, preparing mailings and staffing volunteer committee
meetings. Key skills needed for this portion of the job: detailed-oriented, personable,
and comfortable working with a word, excel and a database.
Stable managment duties will include working with volunteers to assess the staffing
needs on race day in the stable area. Key skills needed for this portion of the job include:
familiarity with horses and barn management.
Hourly salary ranges from $8 to $11 based on experience. The Willowdale Steeplechase
is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in Kennett Square, PA.
