Meeting Minutes 4/11

ANIMAL SCIENCE CLUB MEETING MINUTES

APRIL 11, 2012 @ 6:00 PM : Trabant Lawn (normally 107 SHL)

Meeting called to order at: 6:05 p.m.
Treasurer’s Report: $1,345.96 (inside) $575.40 (outside)

Upcoming events:
  • Tomorrow - Come to the UD Undergrad Pre-Vet Panel tomorrow (Thursday) at 6pm in Townsend 132! Ask questions of recent veterinary school applicants/interviewees while the process is fresh in their minds! google doc sign up sheet: pre-vet panel
  • Saturday, 9:15 am Lot 19 - Sign up to volunteer for the House Rabbit Society this Saturday! Driver needed google doc sign up sheet: house rabbit society
  • Next Wednesday 4/18 - A speaker from admissions at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) will be speaking to us at 6:30pm!

AG DAY IS ALMOST HERE!

THEREFORE...
  • if you are a member of the club, you must sign up to volunteer one shift at Ag Day...your membership will be revoked if you do not sign up...
    these shifts need to be filled:
    Wool sales 12-2 and 2-4 (will be working with the sheep person and it's VERY important to our fundraising!!!)

Equine booth - a second person at the 10-12, 12-2 and 2- 4 spots

Chicks/Chickens - a second person at 12-2 and 2-4

FACE PAINTING!!! - 3 people needed at all slots 10-12, 12-2 and 2-4

*Just added Sat. AM Cow Washing & Prep 7-9 & Sat. PM clean up 4-6 shifts!*
You do not need to be Picasso to face paint...this is a huge part of our fundraising; feel free to sign up for extra shifts, we need a few extra hands for the dairy show demonstration & sheep shearing

  • Posters are due 4/25...the next two weeks we will finish up posters & review animal facts for Ag Day (feel free to meet outside of club meetings to work on your posters!)

Please bring ALL craft supplies to next week's meeting to work on Ag Day posters! All posters that were at our meeting last week, 2 glue sticks, and some construction paper will be at the meetings. As previously mentioned, we will reimburse you for additional crafts that you purchase within reason (approx $15). Also could someone please bring squiggly scissors for the equine poster?
